Not Vain

I spent last weekend doing an amazing thing with some equally amazing people. Not quite ready to talk about that experience quite yet. We were guests at Easton Mountain, and at the conclusion of this very introspective journey, I snapped this photo and recalled the following dialogue from The Color Purple. It very honestly captioned a month-long discourse.

No, no, not vain. Just wanting to share a good thing. I think it pisses God if you walk by the color purple in a field and don't notice it.

It's Better Because You're Here

Yes, for those who don't know, I've actually been home in Colorado for two weeks making some fairly public appearances. I spent this last weekend, well, technically experiencing Boulder Pride. The greater truth is, it was more like Christmas to have Eric here on a visit from Minneapolis, on very short order following my whim of a suggestion six days prior. I have absolutely no shame in saying that I miss him terribly and that his very presence improves my world at least one hundred percent. Call me sissy if you want to, I don't care. And, yes, I'm reciprocating soon.

In the meantime, I know I'm better for this weekend. Distance will not do it's damage. It hasn't yet, it wont ever.
